PSI awarded major follow-up project from TNB in Malaysia

Upgrade of SCADA/DMS system and delivery of new backup control centre

Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, 25 May 2010 – PSI subsidiary inControl Tech Sdn Bhd has been awarded with a major follow-up project by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in Malaysia. The order includes the upgrade of TNB's SCADA/DMS system for the Metro Regional Control Centre (MRCC) and the delivery of a new backup control centre.

The goal of the project is to upgrade TNB's existing MRCC master control system to run the same PSIcontrol platform as the systems in the Northern, Eastern and Southern regions. These were commissioned by inControl Tech in 2008. Upon completion of the project, the distribution network of the entire Malaysian peninsula will be controlled from the same PSIcontrol platform.

TNB is the largest electricity supplier in Malaysia with an estimated 71.4 billion RM worth in assets, approximately 28,000 employees and over 7 million customers. TNB’s core business is the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity.

PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, mining, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,400 persons in the group.
