PSI Receives New Orders from Important Distribution Network Operators

Renewal of the network control systems on the basis of PSIcontrol

Berlin, 15 September 2015 – PSI AG has received a number of contracts from important distribution network operators for the renewal of network control systems on the basis of the third generation of the PSIcontrol system. The Pfalzwerke Netz AG, the Energienetz Mitte GmbH and the Syna GmbH have each awarded comprehensive upgrading contracts.

Along with the modernisation of the existing PSI systems, expanded functions – in particular in the field of IT security, network calculation, new procedures for handling renewable energies and a further improvement of the user interface – represent major advantages and increase the efficiency of network management. Especially important aspects are the management of renewable energies as well as the fulfilment of increased IT security requirements, whereby the requirements established by the BDEW for IT security have been completely implemented.

Corporate-specific particularities are also taken into consideration. For the Pfalzwerke, these are various additional data imports and exports as well as customisations of the transmission interfaces and the functional support of specific working processes. For the EnergieNetz Mitte, a workforce management for the support of disruption calls will be integrated. For Syna, very extensive functions for feed-in management were implemented in the field of network security.

The third generation of PSIcontrol is being used at all three distribution network operators, each of which operates two control centres with a total of up to 24 working places. With the new orders, PSI has been able to solidify and expand its very strong position in the field of distribution networks. In addition, these orders confirm the PSI product strategy in network control, in which significant investments have been made in recent years.

On the basis of its own software products, PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions for energy management (gas, oil, electricity, heat, energy trading), production management (mining, metals, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,700 persons worldwide.
