PSI wins follow-up order from Müller-Technik
PSI material flow controller for logistics centre of plastic injection-moulded components expert
Berlin, 20 July 2011 – While implementing its Warehouse Management System, PSI subsidiary PSI Logistics GmbH is to provide Müller-Technik GmbH with a material flow controller, to control the recently installed conveyor system and automated stacker.
Back in November 2010, PSI received the order from Müller-Technik to provide the Warehouse Management System PSIwms for its Steinfeld location. During implementation, Müller-Technik realised that state-of-the-art conveyor technology would be needed to control the required throughput volumes in the long term, due to the high throughput, good order backlog and complexity of the process in the new logistics centre. The PSI material flow controller commissioned for this purpose controls the two-storey conveyor technology with transverse shuttles as well as two automated stackers. While the conveyor technology is responsible for production supply and disposal, the Warehouse Management System PSIwms is responsible for the necessary storage and retrieval strategies in the high-bay warehouse and their optimisation. The system is expected to go into operation in September 2011.
Running under the motto “Precision in Plastic”, Müller-Technik GmbH produces tools and injection-moulded components primarily for the automotive industry, including renowned customers such as Johnson Controls, Faurecia, Brose, Sennheiser and ZF.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, mining, logistics) and infrastructure management for transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,400 persons in the group.
