PSIPENTA Receives Order from Karl Schnell GmbH & Co. KG

Integrated ERP and MES solution and Multisite control

Berlin, 16 October 2014 – PSI subsidiary PSIPENTA Software Systems GmbH has been contracted by the Karl Schnell GmbH & Co. KG with the implementation of an integrated ERP- and MES solution as well as the Multisite control system.

After an intensive selection process, the international machine and plant construction company for the food industry decided on the comprehensive PSIPENTA solution. Along with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite PSIpenta, the modules of the PSIpenta Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for project management for the rough and medium planning as well as the operational data and personnel time tracking for the fine planning at the shop-floor level will be implemented. One decisive criterion for the selection was also the intercompany management function PSIpenta/Multisite with which the company will control its two plants in Winterbach and Creglingen.

The focus of the Karl Schnell GmbH & Co. KG business activities is on the machinery and systems for industrial processing of meat, pet food, cheese, delicacies and other products such as candies, baby food, etc. The production program ranges from individual machines to complete production lines, from raw material input to portioning, including the required planning, installation and ramp-up and operator training for the customer. The company, with more than 60 years of history, employs a staff of ca. 230 in its two German plants in Winterbach and Creglingen as well as its subsidiaries in France and the USA. The Karl Schnell GmbH & Co. KG has an annual sales of over 27 million euros.
