Berlin, 25 November 2014 – PSI subsidiary PSIPENTA Software Systems GmbH has been contracted by the Esterer WD GmbH (EWD) with the implementation of the PSIpenta ERP suite. The ERP system is to support the optimisation of the processes and assure more transparency and efficiency.
The modules order management; cost calculation and shipping will be implemented in the initial phase. Upon the successful conclusion of the project the company intends to acquire additional modules such as operational data collection, business intelligence solution, project management as well as the modules for automated production control.
PSIpenta/ERP will replace the predecessor’s product Piuss-O that has been in operation since 1993. Decisive for the selection of the PSIPENTA solution were, along with the sector focus, the visits to two reference customers in the field of mechanical engineering.
The Esterer WD GmbH (EWD), headquartered in the Bavarian town of Altötting, is an international player in the field of mechanical engineering for sawmills. EWD was established in 1996 as a joint venture of the companies Esterer AG (founded 1862) and Wurster+Dietz GmbH & Co. (founded 1867). In 2013 EWD had sales of 34 million Euros with ca. 250 employees. Exports account for more than 80 % of the sales.
On the basis of its own software products, PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions for energy management (gas, oil, electricity, heat, energy trading), production management (mining, metals, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,700 persons worldwide.
