Control system PSIcontrol 4.5 fulfills latest IT security standard

Berlin, 8 November 2017 – PSI Software AG has been awarded by the French distribution system operator Enedis with an upgrade of the existing control system DANY4 in Paris to PSIcontrol 4.5. The new system will be featured with specific functions to meet the special requirements of the distribution network in Paris (ring network topology) and will fulfill more constrained IT security requirements.

In the metropolis Paris, 2.1 million habitants with an annual energy consumption of 14,000 GWh are supplied by the distribution system operator Enedis. The electrical grid in Paris is designed with a high redundancy to minimize power interruptions. The city is surrounded by a 400kV-power line, from which 225kV-cables lead radially into the city center. In more than 30 transformer stations, the voltage is transformed to 20kV und distributed via paralleling lines. The low voltage network is supplied via many thousands substations. The network control system is also designed redundant with related control centers with several operator working stations.

The current control system DANY4 has been installed by PSI in 2008. The basis for this PSIcontrol release 4.5, which fulfill the guideline ISO-2700, has been the BDEW-Whitepaper, to comply with requirements of IT-security standards.

On the basis of its own software products, PSI Group develops and integrates complete solutions for energy management (energy networks, energy trading), production management (mining, metals, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,650 persons worldwide.
