Berlin, 4 June 2021 – Long-term PSI customer thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH has successfully put the PSImetals modules Production, Quality, Logistics, Planning and Order Scheduling into operation as part of the "PE@TiM" (Production Execution@Tinplate Manufacturing) project.

Within the scope of the new alignment at thyssenkrupp Rasselstein, the production management systems (Level 2 and 3) for the approximately 50 plants were renewed with the PSImetals system. The first important milestone was already reached in March 2017 with the Factory Acceptance Test, during which the Production, Quality and Planning as well as Logistics modules were configured and implemented.

Due to reorganization in the creation of the Level 2 systems for the approximately 35 main facilities affected, however, the commissioning of the entire system was postponed and now took place in March 2021.  Currently, around 1,000 employees are working with PSImetals in three shifts. The extended implementation of the Logistics module is currently being planned.

PSImetals ensures the continuous improvement of production processes through annual product releases. Moreover, it allows the user to do adjustments to the GUI with PSI-Click-Design to react flexibly to  market requirements. During the project, the interfaces could be reduced and further standardized.

thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH, headquartered in Andernach, is a subsidiary of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe and is one of the three largest packaging steel producers in Europe. Around 2,400 employees currently produce around 1.5 million tons of packaging steel annually for 400 customers from 80 countries.

The PSI Group develops its own software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities (energy grids, energy trading, public transport) and industry (metals production, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics). PSI  was founded in 1969 and employs more than 2,000 people worldwide.
