PSIcontrol/Greengas safely monitors and controls complex gas networks

Berlin, October 18, 2022 - PSI Software AG received on 12 October in Berlin the Innovation Award from the German Gas Industry 2022 in the category "Intelligent Infrastructure" for the software product PSIcontrol/Greengas.

Based on PSIcontrol Version 8, PSIcontrol/Greengas reliably monitors and efficiently controls complex gas grids with different gas compositions. Grid operators are optimally supported in the conversion of their gas grids for the transport of renewable gases. Control specifications for energy-equivalent gas deliveries can be calculated in the required gas quality. Hydrogen hubs, bio-methane and LNG deliveries can thus be integrated into the energy system by gas network operators via the well-developed gas network. For the grid infrastructure, hydrogen compatibility requirements as well as its compatibility states are visualized. Feed-ins of hydrogen, bio-methane or LNG can be simulated.

The sponsors of this year's award are the industry associations Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft (BDEW), Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches (DVGW) and Zukunft Gas. The Innovation Award's competence partner is the Association for the Economical and Environmentally Friendly Use of Energy (ASUE). Wintershall Dea supports the award as a partner.

The PSI Group develops its own software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities (energy grids, energy trading, public transport) and industry (metals production, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics). The industry-specific products, which are built from standard components, are sold both directly and via the multi-cloud PSI App Store and can also be customized by customers and partners themselves. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs nearly 2,200 people worldwide.
