SSAB & PSI:
Why SSAB chose PSI as a partner in their new green steel mini-mill project.
SSAB Europe commissions PSI to implement PSImetals as a key component of its Green Steel transformation
The integrated solution for production management will support the digitalization and automation of SSAB’s mini mill in Luleå, Sweden, and will form the foundation for a future production management landscape. Based on a comprehensive design phase, which already started in 2024, the implementation includes PSImetals Planning, Scheduling, Quality, Production, Logistics, and fully integrated Level 4 and Level 2 communication. At the Luleå site, the system will manage all production areas of the mini-mill, such as electric arc furnace, compact strip production, cold rolling mill, and surface treatment lines, supporting the production of hot-rolled and cold-rolled coil.
