Case Study PSIwms in Hisert's e-commerce warehouse
Efficient e-commerce logistics at the Hisert warehouse.
Hisert has implemented the warehouse management system PSIwms in a preconfigured version dedicated to e-commerce. By configuring logistics processes at an early stage, system implementation time was significantly reduced, allowing Hisert to achieve very high efficiency. The system handles product flow throughout the warehouse and provides real-time insight into order fulfillment.
About Hisert
Hisert is a manufacturer and distributor of clothing, footwear, and accessories, sells its products on e-commerce platforms such as Zalando, eBay, and Amazon. In 2022, the company opened a new warehouse in Szczecin with an area of 11,500 m², enabling the distribution of several thousand items of clothing and accessories per week. The aim of this investment was to increase competitiveness and digitize the company's logistics facilities.
Challenges
Solution approach
The choice fell on the preconfigured PSIwms system, which is ready to handle e-commerce processes, especially in the fashion industry. This system is based on PSI experience with implementations in similar warehouses and has significantly reduced implementation time and costs. PSI carried out a comprehensive implementation for Hisert, including analysis, configuration, integration with master systems, and testing.
Ergebnisse
The system was launched in just 10 days. The entire process, from analysis, topology configuration, testing, and final launch of the WMS, took four months, including integration with master systems. The Hisert warehouse operates in a single-shift mode from Monday to Friday. The busiest time is after the weekend, when orders placed over the weekend are fulfilled. There are usually several thousand of them. Over 70% of orders are single-item orders. The order picking and shipping process, which used to take 8 hours on Mondays, was reduced to just 4 hours in the first week after the launch of PSIwms.
- Shortened implementation time: The PSIwms system was launched at the Hisert warehouse in just 10 days from the start of production. The entire implementation process, including analysis, configuration, testing, and integration, took only four months.
- Efficiency and savings: Thanks to the preconfigured system, the order picking process, which took 8 hours before implementation, was reduced to 4 hours in the first week after launch. This significantly improved the efficiency of warehouse processes and increased control over the flow of goods.
- Reduced employee training time: Thanks to the intuitive interface of the PSIwms system, the training time for new employees was significantly reduced, which had a positive impact on the smooth running of warehouse operations.
- Quickly visible results: Two weeks after the system was launched, an inventory of 1 million items was carried out, which was completed successfully in just 48 hours. New employees who had never worked in a warehouse before were able to use the Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) scanners effectively and carry out the inventory without any problems.
The implementation of the WMS system has increased the efficiency of warehouse processes and allowed us to gain better control over the flow of goods and inventory levels. Thanks to the intuitive interface used on MDT scanners, the training time for new employees has been significantly reduced. Based on my experience with WMS software implementations, I am surprised at how quickly and easily we were able to become self-sufficient in using the PSI system.
Conclusion
The preconfigured PSIwms system implemented in Hisert's e-commerce warehouse proved to be crucial in improving operational efficiency. Thanks to proven software that was quickly adapted to the specifics of Hisert's business, the company gained a flexible and scalable solution. The implementation of the system not only improved efficiency, but also enabled a smooth transition from analog to digital methods, increasing competitiveness and optimizing logistics processes.
For small and medium-sized companies operating in an e-commerce model, preconfigured IT solutions based on the supplier's experience may be the best choice. This implementation model saves time and costs while offering flexibility and high-quality services.
