Berlin, 23 October 2020 – PSI Polska Sp. z o.o. will implement the PSIasm platform at the Polish KAN Group, a leading European manufacturer of heating and sanitary systems, to support the scheduling, monitoring and controlling of the production processes.

KAN offers modern KAN-therm installation systems and manufactures high-quality polyethylene and polypropylene pipes, fittings, brass fittings, metal manifolds and fixtures, thermal insulation for floor heating as well as sheet metal products, including installation boxes. The company’s highly automated production processes are strictly supervised according to the ISO 9001 quality management system.

The rapid growth of the company required a new state-of-the-art production management system to improve the business processes, including production scheduling and control of order lead times. After analyzing the available market solutions, KAN opted for the software PSIasm, which supports three key elements: Advanced Production Scheduling (APS), Manufacturing Execution for production monitoring (MES) and SCADA for the control of the production process.

PSIasm will enhance the planning and control of the company’s production process and offer access to key shop-floor information, including data of the utilization of the available production capacities as well as unplanned downtime and failures. This will reduce response times and streamline the decision-making process. With the new system, KAN will automate its production processes and take another step towards Industry 4.0.

Headquartered in Białystok, the KAN Group operates with over 800 employees a network of branch units in Poland and has offices in Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Hungary. The KAN-therm products are exported to around 60 countries worldwide.

Based on its own software products, PSI Group develops and integrates complete solutions for optimizing the flow of energy and material for utilities (energy networks, energy trading, public transport) and industry (metals production, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics). PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 2,000 persons worldwide.
