Efficient supply chains through supply chain network design
Berlin, August 27, 2025 – PSI Software SE has been awarded by Sto SE & Co. KGaA with the supply of the software solution PSIglobal for the analysis, planning, and optimization of its supply chain network. This will enable the existing logistics network to be designed more efficiently and flexibly in the future, taking into account ecological and economic aspects.

With around 5,600 employees worldwide, the Sto Group, headquartered in Stühlingen, Baden-Württemberg is one of the leading international manufacturers of products and systems for building coatings.
Due to growing customer requirements and the increasing complexity of global networks, Sto decided to design its supply chain structure to be more efficient, transparent, and resilient. Therefore, it was necessary to find a new solution that would provide data-based support for strategic planning in order to make logistics structures fit for the future.
With the use of PSIglobal software enables Sto to perform a thorough site evaluation, model complex networks, and calculate CO₂ emissions. This allows optimizing costs and achieving sustainability goals. In addition, a variety of scenarios such as site consolidation, route optimization as well as evaluation of logistics investments can be simulated on a daily basis. The results deliver a profound basis for decision-making in supply chain management.
Moreover, the system supports the reduction of the ecological footprint through intelligent resource utilization and emission analyses. In addition, it increases delivery reliability and shortens throughput times in the supply chain.
The PSI Group develops software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities and industry. As an independent software producer with more than 2,300 employees, PSI has been a technology leader since 1969 for process control systems that ensure sustainable energy supply, production and logistics by combining AI methods with industrially proven optimization methods. The innovative industry products can be operated on-premises or in the cloud.
