For years, PSI has been developing AI capabilities for warehouse management and integrating them into the PSIwms AI platform. At its core is a digital twin that enables the simulation of a wide range of scenarios without disrupting live operations. This approach earned PSIwms AI the Best Product Award at LogiMAT 2025. Accordingly, the continued development of the AI solution under the motto “Empowering the Future of Logistics with AI” was a central focus of this year’s trade fair presence.
Optimizing warehouse processes with artificial intelligence is the core idea behind PSIwms AI. Following the successful integration of the award-winning Batch AI module for optimizing picking strategies into the WMS standard, PSI presented additional innovations within the PSIwms AI framework at LogiMAT 2026.
In his technical presentation, “Taking Excellent AI to the Next Level: The Next Evolutionary Stage of PSIwms AI,” Thanh Duc Tran, Logistics Consultant at PSI, introduced three complementary features that will soon enable customers to achieve further efficiency gains in their daily logistics operations. These functions, part of the upcoming “EVO” product line, include a Business Assistant that provides answers to user queries within seconds. In addition, a Configuration Assistant guides users step by step through the process selection, significantly reducing both time and complexity. The offering is completed by a Docu Assistant that analyzes thousands of pages of documentation and answers questions about the WMS, including source references.
Book launch with PSI participation
Another highlight of LogiMAT was the presentation of the new reference book Warehouse Management Systems im Fokus by the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML, which examines practical developments in the WMS field. Among the contributors to the publication is Andreas Schellmann, Director of Product Management at PSI, who authored the article “Improving Efficiency and Error Detection through AI.” In his contribution, he emphasizes the importance of artificial intelligence for the future development of warehouse management and shares insights from his many years of project experience in logistics. He focuses both on functionalities that already deliver clear added value in day-to-day logistics operations and on future developments that could transform day-to-day warehouse operations.

Discover in our white paper how our AI platform enhances efficiency, reduces costs, and transforms logistics processes. By integrating artificial intelligence into your warehouse operations, you can not only increase productivity but also lower operating costs while improving the efficiency of your entire logistics chain. Take advantage of the opportunities offered by modern technologies to strengthen your long-term competitiveness.
Ready-to-use WMS with pre-configured processes
With its integrated Batch AI module, the Standard Edition of PSIwms GO Retail - presented at LogiMAT - already delivers tangible benefits through AI-driven functionality. The solution is designed for retail and e-commerce companies seeking efficient logistics processes without complex IT projects. The cloud-based SaaS version includes 26 preconfigured best-practice processes and can be deployed quickly without any development effort. PSI manages all installations, updates, and server operations. As requirements grow, the solution can be upgraded to PSIwms FLEX or PSIwms PRO, making it particularly suitable for logistics service providers aiming to connect retail customers in a cost-efficient way.
Efficient logistics for retail & e-Commerce
Read our white paper to discover how a standardized SaaS solution enables the immediate implementation of professional warehouse logistics, helping you reduce costs and increase efficiency. The shift from custom projects to a standardized, cloud-based solution represents a key step for modern retail companies.
A breeze to get started with the WMS
The PSIwms Discovery Showcase also addressed the need for an accessible introduction to warehouse management systems. Instead of lengthy, complex explanations, the tool uses a gamified approach to demonstrate how PSIwms works. At the booth, interested visitors could either explore the application together with PSI experts at a terminal or simply scan a QR code and try it out themselves via the PSIwms Mobile Demo.
Those who didn’t have enough time on-site can still explore the feature long after the trade show, or have an IT colleague test it at home. The PSIwms Mobile Demo allows users to walk through sample processes such as goods receipt and order picking. The software guides the user through the individual process steps, just as they occur in the warehouse. This gives users a sense in just a few minutes of how intuitively and practically PSIwms supports daily operations.
Conclusion: A window into the logistics of tomorrow
LogiMAT highlighted how consistently PSI is driving standardization and the use of artificial intelligence in warehouse management. While WMS usage is becoming increasingly straightforward and accessible, new AI features enable continuous efficiency gains. PSI customers are therefore directly involved in the evolution of intralogistics.
