New functions support secure digital network control in critical infrastructures
Berlin, June 30, 2025 – PSI Software SE has launched PSIprins 9, the latest release of its proven network control system for operational network management in electricity, gas, water, and district heating networks. The system has been fundamentally modernized and offers numerous technological and functional innovations.
As a Windows service, the software offers improvements in the implementation of the TASE.2 communication protocol. Extended redundancy concepts support the already very high reliability of the system. In the area of IT security and user-friendliness, the new release also offers modern authentication methods such as single sign-on for secure and convenient operation.
With over 100 installations in Germany, Switzerland, Poland, and Turkey, PSIprins is one of the established systems in the field of network management for critical infrastructures. As part of further development, the network calculation core “Optimal Grid Analyzer” will be completely revised, enabling more powerful and precise network evaluation in real time. This will be supplemented by new functions for extended reactive power and load management, which will create greater transparency and scope for action for network operators, especially in complex network situations.
A newly developed reporting module facilitates the structured preparation of operational information, while optimized export mechanisms can transfer extensive time series from the operational OT world to the IT environment. This is a decisive step toward in-depth analysis and system integration.
PSIprins is continuously being further developed to meet the growing requirements of an increasingly decentralized and digitized energy industry. This includes cloud capability based on the Google Cloud Platform, taking into account all regulatory requirements for critical infrastructures. In addition, artificial intelligence functions are being integrated to enable semi-automated network operation management in the future. Another focus of the renewal of PSI's control system landscape will be the connection to the new Control System of the Future platform.
The PSI Group develops software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities and industry.
