Digital planning platform optimizes production in the food industry
Berlin, October 23, 2025 – PSI Polska Sp. z.o.o. has been commissioned to implement the PSIpenta/MES Scheduling system at Espersen Poland Sp. z.o.o., one of Europe’s leading producers of frozen food. The solution will optimize production planning, increase operational flexibility and ensure more efficient use of resources.

The system combines APS and MES functionalities with IoT-based machine connectivity, providing planners with real-time insights into production processes. Potential bottlenecks can be identified at an early stage, while alternative scenarios are automatically generated. Acting as a digital control center, PSIpenta/MES Scheduling ensures transparency and a reliable basis for decision-making, thereby reducing downtime risks and strengthening competitiveness.
Due to dynamic changes in consumer demand, fluctuating availability of raw materials and rising energy costs, food manufacturers are facing intensifying challenges.
We needed a solution that would digitalize and integrate all our production processes within a single modern, modular platform. PSIpenta/MES Scheduling is an investment in operational efficiency, on-time delivery, and the ability to react quickly to market changes.
The implementation process is divided into three stages: preparation and launch of a prototype in a selected production area, rollout of the full functionality, and finally, production go-live combined with operational monitoring.
The PSI Group develops software products for optimizing the flow of energy and materials for utilities and industry. As an independent software producer with more than 2,300 employees, PSI has been a technology leader since 1969 for process control systems that ensure sustainable energy supply, production and logistics by combining AI methods with industrially proven optimization methods. The innovative industry products can be operated on-premises or in the cloud.
